Are you the owner of a small business or have recently started a passion project, and aren’t sure what your next step should be? Technology and digital marketing change so frequently that it can be difficult to keep up, let alone know what the next step is. You may even find yourself saying, “I wish I had someone to call when I have questions!” Well, let me introduce myself.
My name is Austi Stenson, and I love startups! The majority of my clients (over 400+) have fallen in the category of startup, small, or local business. I have also worked for a marketing agency and know exactly what a marketing agency-type will try to sell you/OVER sell you.
Digital Marketing Services
Website developers literally use different languages (HTML, CSS, etc.) when building websites, so it’s no surprise that purchasing a website can be intimidating, or even seem foreign to a small business owner. Unfortunately we tend to overpay for the services that intimidate us most.
You don’t have to speak “developer” to clearly communicate what you want your site to look and move like in the end. In fact, you don’t have to know a line of coding to get a great result.
Before you go looking for a developer, search the internet for a website to model yours after. Find an existing website who’s color scheme you like, who’s layout you like, who’s imagery you like, etc. Find ten sites if that’s what it takes to find all of the elements you want on your site.
Once you have compiled a list of sites you are drawn to for one reason or another, then you can show your future developer what you are expecting, and get a more accurate price quote from there.
Search Engine Optimization
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the act of making your website more appealing to a search engine so that your website can more easily and frequently be found by others online.
A “search engine” (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.) is a vehicle used to search for a particular piece of content online. For example, you type a key word or phrase into a search engine like Google, and then Google roams the Internet in search of the best possible result.
Google then sorts through the tens of thousands of possible results it found online in order to identify which results are actually MOST relevant to you. This is why when you type in “Dentist near me” in Google, you DON’T get a list of dentists that are located across the country.
Social Media Marketing
Social Media Marketing is just that…marketing via social media platform. Social is one of the new kids on the block when it comes to digital marketing but can play a huge role in a brand’s overall strategy and identity.
Social allows a brand to more personally establish a report with their clients/customers online, and allows them to get their name and product in front of a larger group in a more casual manner than some of the more traditional approaches such as print and radio.
When done right, social drives traffic to your store/website, increases brand awareness, and engages your current customer base.
Art & Design
Content is king! Whether you are looking to boost your social presence or build a lasting branded website, visuals matter.
With extensive experience in both digital arts and the messy arts (not the official term), I can help you to clarify your brand messaging and unify your identify across all of your digital assets: website, social platforms, print, etc.
Project management can make or break a budget. For anyone who has ever been on the receiving end of a bad Project Manager they know that project management is so much more then sending out reminders for an upcoming meetings, etc.
An effective project manager will take your vision, and make it a reality. They will do so as attentively, and painlessly as possible. They will keep you within your budget, and within your timeframe. And in those moments, where a project starts to creep out of the scope of the original agreement, the project manager will communicate clearly, rather than cut corners or over promise and under deliver.
